Use Second Chance Banking To Avoid Check Cashing Fees
Next time you go and cash your check at a check cashing store I want you to think about what you’re really doing. The process of handing someone a check (a piece of paper) through a bullet proof window for them to convert it into more pieces of equal value paper (cash) for a ridiculous fee just doesn’t make any sense. The problem gets worse when you make more money since the cashing fees are generally a sliding percentage that never slides in your favor. Stop wasting your money and get a bank account! Second chance banking is incredibly cheaper than check cashing, and provides a safe alternative to carrying cash around all of the time.
Second chance bank accounts function just like normal ones, but with different companies. Online banking, Visa debit cards, direct deposit, and even overdraft protection. The biggest difference is the price, but as regular checking accounts keep getting more expensive this is become less significant. Most alternative banks will charge a flat monthly fee, but others will charge a small fee per transaction or other action like transferring money.
Personally, I hate carrying around cash because I feel like I have a target on my back for people looking to steal my wallet. I’m sure I’m not the only person that feels this way, and when you have the option to use a Visa or Mastercard everywhere you go you are going to alleviate that stress. Carrying cash is also a pain since it’s so easy to lose. Losing your card is a pain, but all second chance banks offer protection from fraudulent spending on your card and will get you a new one pretty quickly.
Second chance banking is the best way to beat check cashing fees and the stress of carrying cash. When regular banks can’t help you out, there is no better alternative!
